This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
In more good news, I found out this morning, I don't have to move!
Actually, first they told me I would and by Monday, because nothing happens here without someone making a mistake in English first. Then, they told me only the first and second floors are being moved out, so my awesome neighbors and I get to stay!
It's silly, but I've actually lived in this apartment now, for longer than any one place consecutively, ever. And, I really like the building staff (most of whom were going to be fired if they made it a nonresidential building), the eateries downstairs, the location, and the location and layout of the apartment itself. Even if moving wouldn't present a hardship, I wouldn't want to. So, yippee!

This Saturday I ended up going to a Comic Jam at a library with some friends, which is pretty much a Round Robin but with each person drawing a panel for a script and passing it to the next person... at a library. But then I ended up getting invited to go to a convention that was happening, and since I didn't have plans other than the comics, I decided to see if I could check it out for the day. Even though I ended up having to pay for a pass for the entire weekend, I had so much fun I actually did go back on Sunday! I mostly go to conventions just to take in the atmosphere to be honest, and it was such a lively place that it was worth the admission just for that. I also managed to gather a cosplay together and took part in a cosplay deathmatch, and ended up farther along than I thought I would!
So to summarize, I had a pretty good weekend and I hope that I'll be able to go again next year.

I'm happy because 9 years ago I was suicidal and struggling to find reasons to wake up in the morning, so I created this thread.
9 years later, I am still alive to post here. Realizing it's been 9 years (holy crap) of finding reasons to be happy, its itself a huge bliss.
Time y'all

This post made my heart stop. Thank God you're still here.
Nine years later it's still important to look for and appreciate the reasons to be happy. For example:
Paper cranes. They're like flowers you can make with your fingers.

It fugits.
I too am much happier than I was 9 years ago. That's a pretty happy thought all on it's own.

I was just fired by the director of a Come to Weihai commercial for being "too handsome" with hair "too luxurious," to play a geeky foreigner who lives in China.

I haven't had a reason to be happy in quite a while it seems. Lucky for me that changed and I'm so excited and...well...happy about it that I decided to share!
Well, firstly, I've overcoming whatever sort of artistic block I've had since around March. I can finally manage to put words down on paper and not be completely repulsed by them. I can do the same with drawing and music as well. I'm pretty excited.
Second, I might be getting another kitten. A widdle biddle floof noof. I'm pretty stoked about that. Not sure my two cats are going to be as excited. Haha
And third, I ordered a signet ring. And it came in. And I haven't been this excited about jewelry since...well...EVER.
And these are the reasons why I am happy. :3

One of my students just came out to me, and announced to me her new relationship, which is sweet enough, but she did so roundabout, beginning by telling me about Utena (which she was surprised existed in America), then showing me the commissioned SKU-style rings her girlfriend had commissioned for both of them just before they graduated high school, so that they could remember, at different colleges, in different cities, that they are still together and will be together.

Congratulations Atropos! On to the next big adventure! I have a similar reason to be happy. Only two more classes until I get my undergraduate degree.

1. Rechecking all the old sites I haven't visited in a long time. (Like here! Hi guys!!)
2. Reaching over a year in my gas station job and finally getting a well-deserved week of vacation! If I could go somewhere for that vacation it'd be great, but I'll just stick with having two birthdays to plan for instead.

Stephen King posting that The Dark Tower movie will finally become a reality makes me happy. 8)
They are casting Idris Elba as Roland and Mathew McConaughey as the Man in Black. This confused me for a bit before I thought about it. I looked up Idris and found out he's the gatekeeper dude from Thor. And that sold me on him as Roland. Kind of ageless, immovable, stoic type who would just keep on going even after the world has moved on. His voice is hot. I honestly think if they cast a white dude the temptation to get a Clint Eastwood clone would have been too high and I don't think that would have worked. As for McConaughey, the Man in Black is a trickster, he's always grinning, laughing, taunting. He's perfect for the role. I JUST WANT THE FIRST THREE BOOKS OK I WANT TO SEE EDDIE AND I WANT TO SEE BLANE THE MONO I WILL BE A GOOD GIRL FOR CHRISTMAS PLZ SANTA GRANT ME MY WISH
tl;dr I am excite

Wild Guns on the SNES is getting a PS4 remake...remaster...whatever. It's the same game but in widescreen, 2 new characters, and up to 4 player co op. Never ever thought it would happen.
