This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

As most of you know, a huge outbreak of tornados, mainly across the south, hit states such as Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee. I know we have plenty of IRGers who live in or around these areas, so if you're okay please let us know. My heart goes out to those lives lost, those who are injured, those who have lost homes or family members or friends.

Last night, friend of mine lives in SE corner of Tennessee, was on the edge of my seat almost the entire night. We kept in touch on line as often as possible until her phone runs out of battery.
Today, she came back online in the morning, so all is well for her and her family. I'm relieved.

Yeah, there have been some pretty weird storms now and again. In my locality, there were nine tornadoes from a single storm. It's pretty crazy. I know no one who got hit property, though some of it was close to some property my fam owns, but it's worked out. But yeah, it's been really bad up around the Carolinas. A bit shocking for a tornado epidemic to be occurring up there, or at least it's not something I have heard of being as bad as it has been.

This lurker from the north Atlanta metro area is fine. We just got some rain, thunder, and wind here.

Almost two hundred people are dead in Alabama so far including my aunt's brother-in-law. It's terrible. We're waiting to hear from the governor.

Thanks for your concern. It's all right. It turns out it was my father's stepsister's brother-in-law's wife anyway. I'm just glad my aunt and cousins are okay. It looks like Alabama has still taken most of the damage.

I think you should have worded that differently. I'm glad your family is safe
What's sad is there is more news coverage on a freaking wedding than for a tragedy here at home.
