I just watched Silent Hill for the first time last night. It was goooooood

I liked the ending credits too. And the fact they used Yamaoka's SH music, although I think most fans were expecting a new soundtrack.

I quite agree about Dahlia. Not only did they get a very good actress for her, but she also outdid the game!Dahlia. The game!Dahlia was very psychotic and made me laugh everytime she started preaching about the devil and darkness. The movie!Dahlia appeared much more human and had more depth in her.
Still, Alessa is my all-time favorite. I don't really like how she was portrayed in the movie, especially the scene where she gets her revenge on Christabella. In the game, she does it all through the town without people even realising she was behind it.

Aw, you guys didn't like the barbed wires up the cooters? I thought that part was wicked-a. XD But my all-time fav is Pyramid Head ripping off that chick's skin. That was fantastic.

The Pyramid Head pony is too cute.

Also, there is a sculpture on the campus of my school that reminds me of him every time I walk by it. I'll try and find a picture of it.

Most of the SH songs are sung by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn AKA Melissa Williamson. I love her voice, she does all the vocals so well. I'm glad she's going to be on the Origins soundtrack too. She's also a voiceactress and you might have heard her in various anime dubs. A couple of songs that have male vocals are done by Joe Romersa, with the exception of "Rain of Brass Petals - Three Voices Edit". That one's performed by a band whose name I forgot.
Note that the first two SH soundtracks didn't have (with the exception of a single song on SH1 OST which was in Spanish) any vocals, but starting from SH3 they got Mary Elizabeth McGlynn to sing them. Both SH3 and SH4 soundtracks are very good in my opinion.

Oh, and to answer your question, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn also recited those poems on SH3 OST. Yamaoka said that those poems were included in the soundtrack because he wanted to make it special. He didn't want to make just a typical soundtrack that consists of background music. I think he succeeded very well.
And I think there was something about the music in the "Making of SH3" video. (edit: There are spoilers of course)
