This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
I found this sheerly by accident, but it's hilarious.

Calling Akio African and/or American is a bit of a stretch, don't you think? General consensus seems to be that with the skin tone and tilaks, Akio and Anthy look Indian (just like in the Anime Insider casting in that other thread), and asking about their absolute origins is probably pointless.
Anyway, we understand your point. I'm not particularly bothered by the cross-ethnic cosplay, though. It detracts from the overall visual accuracy of the costume, but no more so than differences in height, body type, or animatedness. Just think of all the white folks cosplaying theoretically Asian characters, and vice versa. (Or, actually, don't, if the idea offends you so much.) I kind of agree with you about the car, though now that I think about it, it would be pretty cool to see all kinds of people doing the Akio hood-ride in all kinds of vehicles...
The video itself was cute. I would have appreciated a couple of gear-shifting and pedal shots and such. I suppose an actual flip onto the hood of the car would be too much to ask, unfortunately.

I likee. Of course the shirt...MUST...be unbuttoned...but other than that, pretty good effort for what prob is a bit hard to do in real life.
I too wish for the flip, Dallbun, (oh if only) although I imagine that this would lead to somebody falling off the hood and being run over.

Y'know, I kind of thought a cow would of jumped out at one point and tackled the car, from the way it's set up...
But, maybe it's just me.

That dude's lucky it was on a small country road or he could've been dead meat.

.....This reminds me of the time one of my friends tried to be Makio and jump across a car hood.
He didn't quite make it. About half way he just sort of....skidded to a halt.....
It was hilarious to watch -- well he didn't think so, his um...."sensitive bits" took quite a bit of the pain.....

I think this is one of our (former?) member's brother or something. (There's a thread with it that's like... a year or two old somewhere.)
I distinctly remember being mad at them for taking the OHTORI plates that my sexy red baby needs, and currently, I can't be bothered to go through the process of getting them.
...So if any of you take the Texas OHTORI plates in the time being, I might have to stab you when I have time and money.
