This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
I'd love to dress up as Double-D, but without two others to be Ed and Eddy I'd just look like some DORK in red and purple. Was also considering being Koto from YYH, since I think her outfit would be relatively easy to put together and even if people didn't get the reference, they'd just think I was a fox-girl.

We don't really do Halloween in New Zealand, but my writer's group is meeting that night so we've decided to come in costume. At this point I'm going to wear my 50's polka-dot dress, rara, ridiculous tights and my platform heels. Also possibly the little hat I got in NOLA. Good times!

As of right now, still no plans for Halloween aside from passing out candy to kids, but I might dress up if I can think of idea. (Any ideas?)
I think I'll get Paradox to carve a pumpkin with me this year. It makes it a wee bit more obvious that we are in fact handing out candy when there is at least a little bit of decor on the house.

Speaking of carving pumpkins, I secretly want to carve pumpkins featuring the SPGs

I'm going trick or treating! i'm 17....but....i dont care :3
i think im going to dress up as "dumblydore" (my immortal, anyone? )
besides that...my school every year holds some sort of halloween event to raise money for the senior class, so i might go to that. i didnt last year because i thought my idea was stolen and wanted no part in it.
also last year just sucked in general because my trick or treat buddy didnt want to go (i wanted to, but she was a freshman in college and i guess felt it was too childish) things are looking up this year because she and another girl wanted to go!

I've been one of the few people decorating the amusement park I work at for Octoberfest and Screeeemfest this past month, and I've enjoyed it very much. (Got to leave work with the woman in charge of themes to pick out outfits for witches at a costume shop, while still getting paid for it!) And tonight was a cast party where the workers got to test out the haunted houses. It was a million times more fun than I expected, since interacting with the costume people was very entertaining! They all quickly realized that I reacted well to them by asking questions and saying funny things, so they all tended to interact with me while I waited in line. A skeleton with a battle axe was definitely the funniest person to talk to, and I flirted with a sexy zombie girl, probably not realizing that she was hitting on one of the few girls who was actually a lesbian. And a necrophile, too, apparently. Oh, and there was a male dressed as a transvestite zombie who talked like a valley gurl! Plus, a guy and girl dressed up in fancy British clothing, pushing and baby carriage around and asking if anyone had seen their daughter.
While it wasn't really scary, Screemfest was a fun Halloween experience! Can't wait to go again soon.

Okay, tomorrow is the first Halloween party I've been to in 7 years. As I mentioned in a different thread, there may or may not be a Call of Cthulhu game involved. Either way, the costume/character I've decided on is a con artist that is currently posing as a psychic. I have a go-to black peasant skirt that I bust out for anything remotely gothy or bohemian, a petticoat for fullness, and a peasant blouse that usually exists as part of a Ren Faire outfit.
Now, as excited as I am, I'd rather be in New Orleans at Voodoo watching Florence + the Machine because I haven't gone to Voodoo in 8 or 9 years.

I'm going as Flo the Progressive Insurance Girl this year. I got invited to a party at the last second tonight, and on Halloween night my friends and I are going to join the big impromptu parade in Waikiki.

Please share pics of this. I have such a crush on Flo...I cannot even explain it.

Yuzu, your pumpkin is adorable Mine is not Utena-themed, but I share my jack-o's every year whether y'all like it or not, so here's this year's!
This is my fourth annual jack-o'-lantern, and it had the fewest carving mishaps yet! I'm very proud of it. It's spooky, but also pretty.

My Halloween night tradition? Listening to Castlevania music all night.

My friends are hosting a costume party this year. Does anybody have any suggestions for a woman who doesn't want a slutty costume? I'm considering being Flo the Progressive Insurance girl or one of the Pink Ladies.

Hm… I've got a Titania costume from when I was in elementary school, but I think it still fits, I was Queen of the Night once, I think someone last year said something about going as Frieda Kahlo, that sounds cool.
Or you could always go with Halloween being the one night of the year when cross-dressing is completely publicly sanctioned.

We don't have any Halloween traditions in my country but I marathon horror movies. Last year I took some pictures in my black kimono wearing very awful zombie makeup, it was fun.

I haven't done anything social for Halloween in like 4 years. I have the urge to decorate the house this month like when I was younger, however it turns out the decorations were thrown away at some point the last couple of years.
Perhaps the Saturday or Sunday after Halloween I could invite my father to go downtown so we can look at the beautiful altars and listen to music for Dia de los Muertos.
In the meantime this month I can get in the spooky spirit by playing cheap indie horror games or something. There'll probably be some sales.

Ha ha, that was me. It was a complicated costume and I want to be more recognizable this year.

Turns out I won't be sitting around at home this Friday. Earlier this month, I started volunteering at my local library, so naturally I opted in to help setup and run some things at a little Halloween party our location is having. It'll be a more fun way to interact with my community besides just sitting around by the front door of my home and tossing candy at the neighborhood kids or something.

Halloween has only been a thing around here for a couple of years, so I don't really know how to celebrate it properly.
Probably go out and grab a beer, then re-watch all the episodes of Seriously Strange on Youtube
and then probably have trouble sleeping.
