This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

*ahem*It's nothing personal, its business.
How's that?

Archambeau & Hyacinth are clearly mafia. How else would they understand the dynamics of mafia talk so well?
*tries not to fall asleep*

Sorry, the answer we were looking for was, "'Ey, Tony, let's send dese chumps to sleep with da fishes."

Archambeau, I'm falling for you like my heart is a mob informant, and you are the East River.

I don't know...could a member of the Mafia really create such beautiful poetry as Hyacinth has? ^_-

Now now, intelligence and the ability to wax poetic are entirely different matters. ;p

DAY ONE
It's now Day One. With nine alive, it takes five votes to lynch.
Good luck!
Reminder: During the day, no one (including the Mafia) may communicate about the game by any means other than posting in this thread.

That's what I thought...
Lynchings are fun. Who wants to hang first?

Your enthusiasm is suspicious, in a contrary sort of way...

Hmm...lynching. Admittedly, in most of the games I've watched, the first lynching doesn't often happen during day one. Lots of "Vote: no lynching". But that was the hypersensitive forum.
Here thought...I almost expect a bit of bloodlust. :p It's a very SKU way of being. Wait, that's just lust in general...

Oh, I don't know; maybe she just has an enthusiasm for justice.

I think that mostly everyone has gotten used to it by now.
It would be scary if I were to say something like 'Oh goshers guys, thank goodness this is only a game. Violence sure is bad. Could we maybe not call it lynching? Lynching is a pretty strong word. Lets just say that the players 'move.' Okay?'
Bleeeh. Just typing that made part of me die inside.

The subject has come up in PM, so I should clarify:
Though everyone has been assigned a name from the series, this isn't a role-playing thread. Your name is just a game attribute that may be related to your role. If this were a Wizard of Oz Mafia game, for instance, just because your name is Dorothy doesn't mean you have to act like Dorothy. (Of course, you can if you like!)
What's the point of having names, then? Well, who are you more likely to trust: the player named Dorothy, or the one named Flying Monkey #2? If someone told you their name was The Wizard -- known in the movie for his bag of cures -- what would that suggest about their role? Consider carefully whether and when to reveal your name, and whether and when to ask other players to reveal their names. And don't forget: if someone does reveal their name, they may be lying.
Cheerio! I mean... ciao, youse guys!

I think it will be interesting to see. Bloodlust in and of itself isn't exactly something one picks up watching SKU. If the lynching were instead rape or sexual assault, we'd probably be far more cut-throat.
After all, then you'd have the whole issue of some of us wanting it. Personally, I'd rather not by lynched.

That's funny, that we'd be more into it if we could virtually sic rape on our forum members.

Hmm...that's a point I hadn't considered. I wasn't really in favor of lynching anyone, but...

So we just add one of those play names or whatever you call them to use instead of the word 'lynching'. Like rape. Moving isn't bad too (there's certainly a lot of that in rape), but isn't it nice when a word is more descriptive? (: And the person is likely to commit suicide after that, so the results are the same.
I had a dream last night (I really did!). I was gonna get lynched by the mafia. So I say, lynch them before the lynch me.

Isn't 'lynching' the term for what the townspeople do?
Day One is hard. You all seem...so guilty.

Agreed, Gio. I mean, thus far the colors haven't come out yet. So everyone is suspicious, and yet at the same time, my sweet little eyes see only innocence. Maybe this is why Night frequently occurs first rather than day?
Anyway, I think it's time to get things rolling.
Vote: No lynching
I don't plan on doing this more than once, but there are only one or two people I'm getting any sort of suspicious feelings from thus far, and the last thing I want to do is accidentally take down an innocent. I know it'll almost have to happen at some point, but... First I need to get a slightly stronger handle on people's personalities here in (still learning...too bad school kept me away for so long) in order to see how I think they'd act if they were guilty... Would they play total innocence? Would they go over-the-top evil? Just act like normal? Is normal over-the-top evil? Hmmm....
