This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
Ah yes, the cancelled shows. The ones who were too cool for the room. But of course, there are also manga and anime and even webcomics that were cancelled. So discuss our favorites and mourn the loss of one less awesome peice of entertaiment.
Invader Zim, we hardly knew ye

Arrested Development. Save Our Bluths, indeed.

oh, Invader Zim. I actually own you, an impressive feat for me.
...In my mind, House is over.
It may still be airing, but its not House to me anymore...

Firefly.
You can't take this guy from me.

The new version of Fantasy Island with Malcolm McDowell as Mr. Roarke, it was darker and way more promising, pity it got screwed by the networks.

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
Best. Dialog. Ever.

Wonderfalls. Quirky, funny, and well-written.
Thank goodness for the DVD set! It was the only (fictional) television show to ever hold my interest after the The X-Files concluded. I don't even "watch tv" anymore. Just news, Mythbusters, and documentaries, really. And cartoons when I find a good one. My DVD collection is my source of entertainment nowadays.

STELLLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
STELLLLLLLLAAAAA.
Though none of the three were Marlon Brando, it was an amazing show. I can't believe Comedy Central canceled it in order to air more Mind of Mencia. Ugh.

I miss Arrested Development. I really really miss watching the dysfunctional Bluths, they are like my extended family...

I can't pick just one!
This season it's Pushing Daisies and to an extent, Boston Legal. Eli Stone could compensate for both if it didn't air opposite something I'd already invested in, before being canceled.
Prior to that, there's Wonderfalls, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Moonlight , and technically Angel because there was supposed to be a season 6.
Then there's the ancient stuff that only I remember: Whoops!, Hi, Honey, I'm Home, and this show from the early 90's that had a magical housekeeper.
Ooh, and I forgot about Twins and The Class. I was scared for the Big Bang Theory for a moment because I thought there might be a Sara Gilbert curse rearing its head.

Quoted for truth. It's starting to feel like Grey's. There's so much left to be desired of House these days.
Hey Arnold, Doug...they never should've taken those off t.v. And Law and Order: SVU like House has lost the flavor it once had. They're trying to kill Elliot off and they gave him new partners and stuff, and SVU ain't SVU without Benson and Stabler.

I would also like to raise my fist in anger at whomever canceled Earth 2 way back in the day after the cliffhanger and a-half that ended their first season.

Oh yeah, I did forget another... there was another show that I followed after Wonderfalls...
The 4400. It went 4 seasons, ended on a cliffhanger, then USA Network nixed it before season 5 could go into production.
I hope there's a book or something that comes out to either continue or end the story.

The Bionic Woman was one I really liked. The new one. I was all about a strong woman who could kick ass and take names and still be a person, too. I haven't seen the original, but I'm sure that one was good, too.

...Good God, I thought I was the only person in the WORLD who remembered that show! ...I'm pretty sure it was my first taste of "WTF THEY CANCELLED MY FAVOURITE SHOW WHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?" Ah, precious childhood memories...

A few favorites of mine are already listed here, but is anyone else familiar with Clone High? It was on MTV and basically got the Firefly treatment, except without the movie or even full music rights for the (Canada only, I believe) DVD release. It is hilarious, though.

"I'm a Kennedy! I'm not accustomed to tragedy!" Yeah, I know the show you mean. I've only seen a few episodes, despite my sister owning the entire series on DVD, but I did like what I saw. She was quite pissed off that it got cancelled.

That was a great episode. Every time I rewatch Utena I'm tempted to add "Oh, Ruka, you are a regular character!" at a key moment.

*sigh* Drawn Together was so downright crude and dirty, it's hilarious... unfortunately, I think it was way too much even for Comedy Central to handle <_< I don't see South Park taken off the air.
Another show I've been missing... Futurama. Ah... Bender, how did I live through my days without you...

THEY CANCELLED DRAWN TOGETHER?!?!?!

My guilty pleasure: Danny Phantom which royally got screwed by the network. It got consistantly high ratings, a rather large fanbase (not as many Phans as Avatards, but still!) and a creator who was and is still quite willing to pump out more episodes.... however, it may be just as well-most fans consider the moment Steve Marmel got fired as the moment DP got cancelled, so....
...but I really also miss WITCH. Why, oh why did Winx beat them out? That show threw the Sorting Algorythm of Evil out the window with season 2... ugh.
