Yeah, I suppose the attraction to some of these characters is that the same behaviour that would make a relationship unworkable IRL would also add a sense of danger, I suppose, plus the positive traits such as confidence mentioned before.
Sadly I am a sucker for shy damaged women so still don't quite 'get it'. Eee well.

Anyone here watched the series Kimi Ni Todoke?

Sawako from Kimi Ni Todoke has a lot in common with Sunako from The Wallflower.

They both are mistaken for Sadako from the horror classic The Ring.

They both often appear as superdeformed in their shows.

They are both very good cook and like ghost stories, but thats where the similarities end.

Unlike Sunako, Sawako doesn't want to stay in the darkness and become a hikikomori, she would like to make friends and get with Refreshing-kun, who likes her even thou neither of them can spit it out.

When she forces a smile, its really creepy...

But on the rare occassion when she has a good reason to smile...

And last but not least Hwoarang from Tekken. I have an Utena-Prince kind of crush with him. When I first played Tekken I liked his appearance and fighting style so much that I decided to learn Taekwondo only because I wanted to be more like him. emot-wink
