How's the weather where you are at?

According to the weather channel in my area, today is the hottest day in 70 years.

Max Temp = 45C or 113F

What it felt like = 51C or 125F This is due to the 30kph (19mph) hot desert winds turning Adelaide into a fan-forced oven.

Expected Min Temp = 31C or 88F

The nights are gonna kill me...emot-frownemot-gonkemot-frownemot-gonk

Re: How's the weather where you are at?

I wondered where you were in Australia and how you were doing, Tamago.  They've suspended play on the outside courts at the Australian Open (Melbourne) and closed the roofs for the two show courts.

Here it's snowing.  We're expecting somewhere between 6"-12" (15.2 cm-30.5 cm).  The temp isn't too bad though.  Currently 19F (-7.2C).   Yay for snow!  We've barely gotten any this winter. emot-frown

I live in Adelaide, South Australia and do you wanna swap your 19F for my 113F? I cope well with cold, its heat I have trouble with.

On-topic: 65 degrees Fahrenheit in Yuma, Arizona is sweater weather to me (but I live in the high desert, where temperature extremes are the rule rather than the exception). I prefer my temperatures to be in the mid-80s to low 100s (for you metric folks, that's 29.4 - 37.7 degrees Celsius. Isn't math fun? emot-keke )

I am basically a cold weather fan, I find 10C (50F) to be perfectly comfortable and in odd jobs I had where I had to pack refrigerators, I can work comfortablely in 2C (36F) in just a T-shirt and shorts for more than an hour and the only thing weird is that when I leave the refrigerator, even 15C (59F) is sweaty hot to me.

Re: How's the weather where you are at?

I like hot weather.  Except when it's snowing.  I'll put up with cold (we had some -12F days a couple of weeks ago) when there's snow involved, but when it's just cold and I can see ugly, dead grass everywhere it pisses me off.

It's still coming down here.  We've had about 10 or 11 inches now.  We typically don't get this much snow at once.  Usually it's more like 6 inches, and then drifts around like crazy.  Not much wind today, just quite a bit of snow for this area.

It snowed yesterday and iced last night, so we have no school today. It's really cold out here lately, which I absolutely hate, unless it snows. And now it has so Spring please come soon! emot-gonk

Re: How's the weather where you are at?

We're getting like our hundredth snowstorm over here in Maine. Another 12 inches or more, I think? We're getting them like every two weeks now, it seems.

Temp wise, we aren't too bad. It's 30°F/-1°C, which is pretty much perfect; warm enough to not be balls-freezing cold, but cold enough to allow for plenty of the white stuff! emot-smile

Tamago, what on Earth are you doing living in a place that gets that warm? emot-gonk Get out of there!

Re: How's the weather where you are at?

As I guessed, midterms were canceled today because of the snow. Another foot of cold to walk through.

My sister woke me up at 5:30 in the morning and scared the hell out of me by saying that there was school today. I didn't study and I didn't even bother going to sleep at a reasonable time, so I would have been screwed. It's a good thing that school really was canceled! She just couldn't see the thin layer of snow that's developed into over a foot.

Brr, it's cold...

It's damn cold. We've had several days below zero lately, which is rough even for us Wisconsinites.

Re: How's the weather where you are at?

I don't have a thermometer, but I'd say it's around -5-8ºC at the moment, snowy, but thankfully not windy. One of the better winter weathers, at the moment, but I'm afraid it's not going to last for long - it's going to get really frosty, soon.

No fair! I want British weather!
It's kinda cold here. Then again, it's winter, so that should be normal.
We did have some snow, though, for like, a few days before it all melted.
