This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

Costume identification

Hello,
So I know I'm completely new here, but I'm hoping you guys could help me.  There's this Utena skit, http://www.acparadise.com/vid/635, with a fantastic Anshi dress that I've never seen before.  I know I could be dumb and it's something the cosplayers designed (which is awesome), but I'm hoping that there's some obscure piece of Utena art that it might be from.  Has anyone seen it before?

Random: I'm totally taking pictures if I find an Akio car at the car show next week.  I cans post them?  emot-dance

Re: Costume identification

I can't get a really clear view of Anthy's outfit, but I can plainly see Utena's, which is featured here. Anthy's dress looks pretty similar to that. emot-smile

Re: Costume identification

I'm gonna have to second dollface here.

Mostly unrelated, but I was at a home show, and on the way out, one of the homes had an Akio Corvette in the garage. I was all !!!! and everyone else was like, its just an old Corvette. :\
...Clearly, they had no taste, as it was in excellent condition. (It was the wrong year for Akio, but still! Red and everything.)

And do it, we all post silly pictures all the time. emot-keke

...And its your first post! Welcome!!

Admittedly even a nice shiny red 'vette is going to lose something without the cocky bastard draped over the hood of it. school-freud

As for Anthy's dress, given where there's a bunch of flowers, it seems to be a reproduction from the same picture dollface linked. They might have tampered with the color, I can't tell if that's really green or not, but the design is the same.

Akio, you have nice turns of phrase, but your points aren't clear and you have no textual support. I can't give this a passing grade.

Re: Costume identification

*huff huff huff* Okay.  Internet access is nice.

So: here I am at the car show, going, gee, there's a lot of 55 Chevy Bel Airs, but they're the wrong year.. and here's a green one that maybe Saionji would have.. and there's a blue one for Miki.. and ew, a yellow one..  must I be deprived of Bel Airs?
But hark!  What is this I see?

Oh crap.  Oh man.

I'm screwed.

So that's how that went.  There was a movie-akio corvette, and I never did meet who owned it, which is probably good because I wouldn't have been able to stop from giggling.

Belated thanks for teh help emot-keke
