I don't exactly remeber the time it started airing (March, maybe?), however, from IRG, I have picked up that the series ended on Christmas Eve, 1997.

And, at least according to Wikipedia, it started on April 2nd, 1997. (Which is also the day that FFVI came out in Japan in 1994, and yes, I have used this as an excuse to celebrate.)
