The entire Lou Reed album, Magic and Loss plays like an alternate soundtrack to Utena, to me. (Maybe if you start it twenty minutes into the movie, it syncs! emot-keke )

It is probably for mostly dirty reasons that I think of Planet Log's song about the biggest Johnson of them all, "Tor Johnson" as an SKUish song.

I know there may not be any second round of WIRG mixes at all, but I figure these songs would take time to find/make into mp3 (since I don't have them myself); so, should there actually be a second round, and should I still have the honor to be aided by the wonderful Lex, here is what I have in mind:

Nostalgic already for the WIRG mixes, which were all quite good. While that was going on, I slowly added and cut down and added and cut down a playlist, for my personal enjoyment, to see how I looked at SKU in terms of other music. Final version of the mix was:

I bought a converter deck to drop tapes to DVD/digital. Once I'm back in the States, I should start converting my old AMVs, including the SKU Stones, Ronnie Spector, and X-Ray Spex ones. I was surprised how easily She Talks to Rainbows went with both Utena/Anthy and Juri/Shiori even if it's stretching both a bit. Mutates them.

But thickly coated in Christian techno-pop glitter.
