[SKU] And They Lived... (a GJ-hosted RPG)

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c174/chani_sama/ATL_small_banner.png

Once, when the Princess was younger, a beautiful Prince came to her upon a white horse. Her parents, the king and queen, smiled graciously at the young man, telling the Princess to go and meet him. As the girl approached, the Prince dismounted his horse, sunlight sparkling off a golden circlet upon his brow, and went to one knee before her. She stopped, uncertain, for the Prince had in his hands a single, beautiful red rose. She knew what such flowers meant; they told of undying love to a single person.

The Prince held it up for her to take, but, speechless, she could only shake her head. She could not accept such a gift, the love of a person unknown! The Prince sighed with infinite sadness, leaned forward towards the Princess, and kissed her upon her brow. 'Little Princess,' his voice was strong and deep, 'it saddens me that you will not take my rose. I will leave with you this ring that you may find me if ever you change your mind.'

The Prince left then, leaving with the Princess a ring with a red rose seal. The king and queen came to her and found her crying. 'I have done a terrible thing,' she said between tears, 'I have made that Prince sad. I am a terrible Princess.' She clutched the rose ring tightly in her hand and swore a solemn oath to herself that she would find the Prince someday, and accept his beautiful red rose.

But was that really such a good thing?

Welcome to Ohtori Academy, a prestigious private academy, known just as well for it's lavish gardens and strange intrigues as it is for it's academic prowess.

You may have heard of this place, of the duels, as well as the Student Council. Maybe even some of the Duelists. You may think you know about the Rose Prince or End of the World. If you think you know, you may find yourself a bit surprised.

In this realm, none of the characters you know exist in the capacity you are aquainted with. Or, possibly, may not even exist at all. All characters of this role-playing game are of original manufacture, though the universe runs in a similar manner to the one with which you are familiar.

And They Lived... is another Alternate Universe Role Play based on the anime, manga, and film incarnations of Shoujo Kakumei Utena. Taking bits and pieces from each, twisting and adding and changing elements, we've built a game which will have (what we hope is) a similar feeling, yet something altogether new. Our new world has a European fairy-tale feel, with elements of Japanese culture and flavor. The worlds intermingle and mix to create the Ohtori Academy of the game.

Re: [SKU] And They Lived... (a GJ-hosted RPG)

I find the concept interesting as well as it being the mods' decisions who is and isn't a duelist.  It shows there will be a lot of mod/storyteller interaction.  i have a lot of experience with such rpgs (using LiveJournal) and its tempting.  Unfortuntely, I'm too lazy right now to come up with a solid OC concept.

emot-gonk *pouty face* Seriously though, if you manage to come up with even a bare-bones something for a character, I'd love to have you with us. I'm really glad at least someone else other than us mods likes the idea and concept. It takes a weight off my shoulders for sure.

Re: [SKU] And They Lived... (a GJ-hosted RPG)

I'll think about it.  I'm not sure if I can create anything of substance for the SKU-verse as I'm so very used to playing Juri in SKU rpgs.  Meh.  We'll see.

Re: [SKU] And They Lived... (a GJ-hosted RPG)

So i vaguely have a concept.  Now if only work would let me take the time to put my thoughts together in a coherant manner.  This may take some time.

And it seems I had a sudden stroke of inspiration and therefore no patience required.

Re: [SKU] And They Lived... (a GJ-hosted RPG)

I'll have to chat about him with my co-mod, but I don't see any real reason why you won't be accepted. I am vaguely amused by the fact his name is Kazuya, considering there was a Kazuya in the previous RPG, but the two are NOTHING alike.

If you have the patience to recolor things in avatars, Yuri (of Kyou Kara Maoh) as his Demon King self might do well as a PB. Or, the character in your default icon (Dark from D.N. Angel)....  *shrugs*

Give us a day or two, and I'll have the final response for you.

Re: [SKU] And They Lived... (a GJ-hosted RPG)

Ohhhh, I'm really interested in joining this, actually. It looks very promising, and SERIOUS, not like some RPs that I've participated in during the past where people like, re-name some well-known anime character (sometimes they'll go as far as keep the name..) and pretend it's their original character.
Just one clarification: the "character relations" part in the application form is referring to the number of people in the character's family i.e. parents, siblings, etc... right? Or could it be referring to relations with other characters in the story (which has yet to occur), so I could leave it blank...?

People can use it either way. Most of the time it's relations with people in the game, which means you can change and edit your character sheet as you go along, as people become enemies or friends. Sometimes people place family or other relations there, especially if those extra characters could be taken up be someone coming into the game. Katsuki (my character) has both. She's Engaged to the Prince, which makes that a game-relation, and has a potentially playable older sister at the school.

Yay! This really makes me happy. I'm ever so glad when people like my creative enterprises. I'm sure my co-mod will be very happy that we have so many interested parties. We were getting worried that we'd have to start the game with a skeleton crew. emot-aaa

If you were interested in this game, we just finally posted our starting post. There's still plenty of time for newcomers, without the newcomer actually being a newcomer! etc-love

If you just want to watch (you pervert you), I can't stop you, and I actually welcome the audience.

emot-gonk emot-gonk emot-gonk
I finally finished writing up my character's information, and it said I exceeded the 4300 character limit... mine was like, twice that long... there I go, finally having the time to do this and I get all excited and write too much (I think it was the sample writing that did it). I split it into 2 comments, I hope that's all right.

Re: [SKU] And They Lived... (a GJ-hosted RPG)

Resurrecting a dead thread.... my own dead thread at that. emot-aaa

If you were at all interested in this game, please give us a another look. Or, give us a look to begin with.

We've just started our first duel (interestingly enough, it's a duel between the Engaged and a non-duelist, to give you an idea of how unique this game is), and we'd love to have more people join in.

We wouldn't mind having some 'normal' students, or as normal as Ohtori students can be, (I WANT MY GENKI FIX emot-gonk SOMEONE BE GENKI FOR MEEEE~), and I'm sure we'd welcome another duelist or two.

It's relatively slow moving, so you don't have to be an insanely active role-player to come and play with us. Though, if you're an insanely active role player, we'd be happy to have you, too.

We're a pretty small group (four duelists, three students (two of which are on the Council), and the Rose Prince), and we're all fairly friendly. So, no worries about getting bitten.... unless, of course, you'd like something like that, and I'm sure one of us might be able to oblige you.

Feel free to ask questions! I welcome questions~

It looks very impressive, with some nice literate players. I might be interested in doing something once my break comes along. You say you'd like a nice genki char?

Re: [SKU] And They Lived... (a GJ-hosted RPG)

Oh, please, yes. emot-dance It's been my dream to have a seriously light-hearted character around. Aya's close, but he's too much of a drama queen. *amused*

Sometimes it seems like my Ohtori's are synonymous with angst, and I'd like to lessen the already dark tone of the game by having someone around that is a bright ray of light.

Re: [SKU] And They Lived... (a GJ-hosted RPG)

Well, as you can see, I'm quite a lover of dark characters and situations. But I can most certainly play comic relief. Yay! I'm a Wakaba! I do hope that my character can eventually play a somewhat important part, though, even if in a minor niche (think the equivalent of a Black Rose duelist). Let me do some research on it and maybe I could send you something. May I contact you via AIM or something?

Re: [SKU] And They Lived... (a GJ-hosted RPG)

Oh, yes. I have no problem with any of our characters going Black Rose at the point in which we introduce that arc. It's part of what makes Wakaba's genkiness so poignant, knowing that she's not really always so.

I'm rarely on AIM, but I can hop on for a while if you want to talk tonight. Otherwise, e-mails are my friend. emot-keke

Posting this here because my sent box is all crazy.

Just working on the finishing details for Yukie Ogawa, my charrie. I'll send you the profile probably within the hour. Sorry for the delay - as stated before, I had finals to finish. I'm trying to navigate the journal place and figure out how it all works, but it's a bit confusing. Let me know if any details in the profile need to be amended emot-smile.

>>;;;; I keep forgetting to tell all of you that this game here has moved. We can always use more people, and we are in a bit of a lull right now plot-wise. It'd be a perfect time to hop in and start playing. Do be warned that the game is usually slow-paced, and doesn't run a mile-a-minute (thus why there has not been much activity recently. I'm waiting for a couple people to finish a scene).

You can now find us here: http://asylums.insanejournal.com/andtheylived/

Take a look around and see if maybe you'd like to participate in our revolution.
