Re: Merry Christmas, everybody!

All told, this was one of the most satisfying Christmases ever.  I just came out of a tough semester and I've been spending my three-week break (which is half over as of today) doing pretty much whatever I please aside from family obligations.

Stuff I got:

--Doctor Who: The Complete First Series DVD box set
--Whisper of the Heart
--My Neighbor Totoro
--a $100 gift card to Kohl's (clothing store)
--$100
--desktop calendar of Japanese woodblock prints (Ando Hiroshige)
--Guitar Hero game and guitar controller

Stuff I bought with Christmas loot:

--Guitar Hero II game and guitar controller (because II has better songs)
--Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shambala (2-disc DVD)

And tomorrow I'm going to see Spamalot with my brother and my man.  Good times.

Re: Merry Christmas, everybody!

Necroed! I knew there would be a thread for this. emot-tongue

Merry Christmas from down under! This is possibly the second Christmas glimpse to be seen by a vIRGin. emot-dance (I'm guessing Clarice might see Christmas first if she's not asleep).

Speaking of Christmas, so far it's very dark (it's 12.02 am rofl) and I can't hear Santa yet. So I'm guessing he's not coming. What a jip, he never seems to come. Just because we don't have a chimney... *sigh*

Wishing you all a great, and hopefully not-too-depressing-with-family-affairs type day. etc-love poptart etc-love And presents of course. Fab presents. And much sickening food.

At the exact moment of it becoming Christmas, I began to watch the Star Wars Holiday Christmas Special.

Because I am poptart.

Re: Merry Christmas, everybody!

So far, all I've gotten is a pack of mechanical pencils. (mom lets us all open one gift early on Christmas Eve, in my case, since I wasn't home before midnight, Christmas)

I know that I'm getting somewhere in the range of $400-$500 worth of clothes from a number of stores at the mall. Mom sucks at shopping for clothes for me, so she just takes me to the mall and lets me pick whatever I want out and gives it to me Christmas day.

As for the rest of my gifts...I'll post that later, once I figure out myself.

Merry Christmas, everyone!  I hope you all have (or had) a wonderful day.  Paradox and I have exchanged gifts and eat breakfast (scrambled eggs, vegetarian sausage, and homemade banana bread, yum!) and are starting to think about working out before getting ready to head to my mom's.  I hope that she really didn't think we'd actually get her the Wii, that will make the reaction all the better.  I love awesome reactions to gifts. emot-keke

Re: Merry Christmas, everybody!

Good god Katz... you become a little more terrifying every time I hear from you. That Star Wars holiday special is like the House of Leaves. It seems harmless in itself, but it will still rip your soul out of your body and leave it dangling from your extremities, trailing on the ground like a gory train...

Re: Merry Christmas, everybody!

Happy Holidays! Waiting (though not at all excited) for the family to arrive. However, I did get some good stuffs, so I'm quite happy!

List, for those who care!

-A new tablet! Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch Fun
-Evangelion Rebuild 1.0: You Are Not Alone
-NANA Boxset 1+2
-Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
-Dexter Season 1
-Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere; one of my favorite books, and I finally have my own copy!
-Catcher in the Rye; never read it, but looking forward to it!
-Art supplies: small sketch pad, large sketch pad, graphite sticks, Prismacolor colored pencils
-Stockings
-Sweaters
-A black pencil skirt, which I have been looking all over for
-A shit load of fancy chocolate
-Giftcards
-New robe
-Gym membership; this would be a rude gift if I hadn't asked for it emot-tongue

And I really love sharks, so I was thrilled to receive:
-Terrors of the Deep: Ocean Predators
-Shark Week: Best Bites
-This lovable plush shark! I named him The Shawshark Redemption. LOLGETIT? All of my stuffed sharks have "clever" little names.

Hope you all have some cool new stuff. emot-biggrin

Re: Merry Christmas, everybody!

Merry Christmas to all!  emot-biggrin

I got a ton of awesomesauce books that I want to read right away, but they're competing with my library textbooks!  I figure I'll wait at least until 2010 to be responsible, and meanwhile read this book about the connections and tensions between games and stories, and this other book with Neil Gaiman short stories, and maybe browse the surfaces of the three gigantic tomes (The Tale of Genji, Harold Bloom's opus on Shakespeare, and a compendium of cultural trivia) that I unwrapped.  Simultaneously I'll pig out on the infinitude of candy, as well as the tea and hot chocolate mixes, some of which came courtesy of moroschino when she visited last week.  (Thank you, sweetie!  emot-smile)  And I'll enjoy the fuck out of the complete weekend I still have in front of me.  Exact nature of said fun is still to be determined, but I'm going to try to have it involve leaving the house in spite of temptation to just lie on the couch and read until Monday.

Merry Chirstmahanakwanzika!  The gifts keep coming and there are still loads of cookies my mom and I baked (mostly my mom but I at least did all the cut out cookies this year since everyone has been super busy not to have help).

I slept half the day away, though.  Eh, oh well.
