A disk two for the Utena game ROM?

Hey! Me and some friends of mine are planning on translating and creating an english ROM to the Utena game! emot-dance Just one problem though, we can't find a working download for the second disk. The one linked on this site is a dead link, so I'm here to ask if anyone knows another place to download it?

Re: A disk two for the Utena game ROM?

Gio and I probably have it kicking around somewhere. We'll take a look. Also, people have worked on this project before (I'm pretty sure dallbun was working on it) and I believe there was a partial translation at some point. If you want, search around on the forum and contact the others. They might be willing to help out, or give you a head start.

I'll let you know what we find. It would be REALLY AWESOME for the game to be finally translated and playable etc-saiowank

Re: A disk two for the Utena game ROM?

Thanks dood! Super appreciate the help! emot-keke And we did find that someone had ripped all the text out and put it up online, yes it was partially translated. Our translator is going to work on it over the summer and we figure we can get the translated text into the game once its done! Uh getting the game all put together probably won't happen til the fall though considering translating will take awhile but its going to happen!
Yes it will be awesome once its translated and playable after all this time! cool

Re: A disk two for the Utena game ROM?

We do have it, we just took it off the site because it's huge and we don't want our bandwidth sucked down by people downloading. I'm uploading it back onto the site now; it's gonna take a while but I'll do both discs, just in case something happens. It should be up by tomorrow.

I'll post again when they're up, so please let me know when you have them so I can take them down again. If anyone needs/wants the iso's again, we can put them up on request.

Good luck translating the game, Can't wait to try it out
While I'm here can someone pm me a link to a translation of the SKU light novel because that the only thing out of this franchise that I haven't seen yet.

Re: A disk two for the Utena game ROM?

Here is the link to the other utena game thread.
http://forums.ohtori.nu/viewtopic.php?id=60
There should be a link to the text somewhere in the thread.
Just remember that in addition the the dumped text there is animated video that I never managed to figure out how to encode correctly to put back in the video game.

Re: A disk two for the Utena game ROM?

Hi~
I'm so sorry for reviving an old thread...and I know I'm new here (always been a fan of SKU but never joined any forums for it..) but I would also really like to try out the game if anyone still has it around and is willing to share >_<
Thank you! Please feel free to delete this message if I've violated rules~~~ (reading up on stuff in a sec..)

I'll see what I can get worked out in the next day or two. emot-smile

Akio, you have nice turns of phrase, but your points aren't clear and you have no textual support. I can't give this a passing grade.

Hey there! I managed to get the rom to work, these are the directions I used:

1. Download the rom(s):

Disc 1:

- http://d01.megashares.com/dl/18de01b/Ut … ms-Etc.rar (This one's from earlier on in the thread; it seems to work, though!)

Disc 2:

Unzip them with WinRAR, if required.

2. Download the emulator "SSF" from here.

3. Use a virtual CD-ROM program to trick SSF into thinking your ISO is a CD in your CD-ROM. You can use Virtual CloneDrive for that; it's free.

4. Download and install Virtual CloneDrive.

5. Next, configure CloneDrive in SSF. Open SSF. Click on the Option menu, then on the "Peripheral" menu (which it should be on by default).

6. Look in the "CD Drive" box. Click the drop-down and choose ELBY CLONEDRIVE.

7. Click OK and close SSF. You'll get a weird "SSF?????" message - ignore it.

8. Close SSF.

9. Because you installed CloneDrive, a CD icon should now be in the lower right on your PC (next to the time). Right-click this icon, hover over the option that says "Drive", then click Mount.

10. The "Virtual CloneDrive Drive" window will pop up; select the "Utena_Sega1" file.

11. Now re-open SSF, and your Saturn game should automatically boot up.

Also, I'm not nearly fluent enough in Japanese (or rom hacking) to be of much use for the text translation itself, but I do do art and image work. So if you happen to need someone to edit any Japanese images nicely into an equivalent in English, I'd be happy to help!

Hey, I just wanted to let y'all know that we're close to having a finished script.

Awesome to know this is still going emot-biggrin  And I apologize for my absence as well too...  I forgot and then got busy and forgot some more...  But thanks to wolverinecarnage who contacted me and with that I realized I prob should check this thread ;)

I definitely want to help with getting the script inserted.  Here's a repost of the tools as the link is dead for it : Utena Tools.  I still need to add in disc 2 I realize and also dump it but that'll be forthcoming.  I also see some other things that need doing such as the names are graphical images that need to be edited and name input needs to allow english.  I can look at those later (although I may be slow as usual...).

gpink,  I saw you may have some contacts who could possibly help with the cinepak movies?  That'd be awesome emot-smile  I haven't had a chance to relook at it (plus I don't know if I'd have the skill for converting them back and forth).

All of these links still work as of today emot-dance

From the other thread:

Yasha wrote:

Here you go! I'm gonna leave these up unless I get a notification from Dropbox or something saying I'm an awful person. Post in the thread if there are any problems!

Disc 1

Disc 2

I guess it tends to get a little lost in there, but those links are both functional and should continue to be that way until the end of time. emot-keke

Why not use the pirate bay? I'll seed, if we get at least 4-5 people we'll be good for ever.

That sounds like the end of a John Hughes movie.

Hey! My friends and I want to play the game together (with a friend doing a live translation), but the Dropbox links are broken. I was able to nab Disc 2 from one of the older links, but haven't had any luck with the first. Could anyone help me out? Thanks in advance! etc-love
