This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

The Ends of the World bring you The End of the World

https://new.livestream.com/accounts/228 … ts/1739801

That's right! To celebrate the total destruction of the world, we're coming to you with a live stream of the best Utena we can find!

This should be very exciting! I can't wait!

As far as an actual roster goes, it's up for question right now. Post what episode(s) you'd like to see, and we'll do our best to make sure we cram as much Utena in to our session as possible! etc-saiowank etc-love  etc-jurishlick

Re: The Ends of the World bring you The End of the World

I'll nominate episode 13, which is where we first get to meet Akio, 19 and 20 for the Wakaba mini-arc, episode 25 as the beginning of Akio's eponymous arc, and episode 33 for being his moment of absolute bastardry.

Don't know if I'll be able to watch this (or at least part of it) from my cell while I'm away, but I'll definitely try. Props to you for setting it up.

LiveStream has mobile support, so you should be able to. Not sure how it'll turn out, but with a decent connection, you'll be fine. cool

I forget, do you have to make an account to watch it on Livestream? I know there was one site where you didn't have to, but I'm not sure which one it was.

Re: The Ends of the World bring you The End of the World

If you have footage of the Utena musical, I'd suggest streaming that!  It's something many of us won't have seen, and although it's mostly pretty terrible, it's comedy gold.  emot-biggrin  Also, it contains the lost lyrics to the Student Council theme, and the Shadow Girls have their very own song. emot-smile

It is not mostly pretty terrible! emot-mad

It's mostly lovely. There's a beach ball. The songs are catchy. And, I'm sort of in love with stage Touga and stage Anthy. Without the "sort of."

(It's a terribly awkward adaptation, though. And Dios looks a bit like someone's stoned granny.)

Yes, it does. You do have to be signed in to do that, I think, but there is a place for you to rant and rave to your heart's content.

You don't HAVE to, and I can try and set it up that way, but it helps in the long run, weeding out would-be flamers, eh?

I know of that truly horrible thing you speak of, and will do my best to have it.

Okay, so so far, roster's looking like:

Middle School Musical (oh, I so punny)
Episode 4 and 5 (Miki story so good ya'll)
Episode 13 (DUNN DUNN DUNNNN)
Episode 19 & 20 (Wakaba arc makes dem feels come out real good)
Episode 25, 33

Still open to more suggestions! We've got a big block to fill!

I'm down, if they're up for the raunchiness, debauchery, incest, and such, and then watching Utena.

Re: The Ends of the World bring you The End of the World

Hum, well how long is it going to last for? Because if there's time I would say just stream the whole series. But I guess you don't have that much time if you're asking for suggestions. Why not episode 7 because of Juri. And they episodes with Ruka in it. (It's been so long since I've watched the whole series I don't remember the episode numbers...)

Speaking from experience I don't think you can stream all of SKU in a day. I marathoned it to show a friend and it took at least 12 hours just to get through the akio car arc

Re: The Ends of the World bring you The End of the World

Oh gee, does the link say how long I'll be broadcasting for? Oh, by golly, it does! What does it say?! That I'll be broadcasting for only four hours? Wow, who'd've thunk that'd be on the link!

Sarcasm aside (though, I do kind of miss it already), I know I can't get through the whole series. That's why I asked for suggestions.

The_AssMan (90s, aaah), time depending, I'll throw in more Juri and Ruka. The musical is taking up a big block right now, so we'll see what time allows for.

Re: The Ends of the World bring you The End of the World

OK, four hours. Sorry I asked but when I checked your page all I got was a page saying I needed to log in to view it and I was to lazy to create an account then. Well anyways, this still sounds like a good idea. I just might create an account to watch this on Friday. Come to think of it, watching a live stream was how I spent the last apocalypse as well. Such a good time was had that day.

Neat. I've never done a livestream thing before so I'll try to participate. What time does it start? (Please specify what timezone you're using so I can convert it to mountain standard time.)

I also vote for episode 7 because of Juri. And episode 34, 38, and 39 because they were really powerful episodes.

I like the inclusion of Miki's arc too.

If you want to include all those episodes and the movie, you'll have to start earlier. But there's always cullin' to be done!school-chef
