Re: "Utena Girl Squad" -- This entertained me.

What can I say, I found that novel concept for an AMV and I thought that it would either amuse, shock or disturb anyone who watc hed it... clearly I was right on da money!

If I had the software, I would create some Utena AMVs and use my editing skills to lip-sync the characters to the lyrics.  I wouldn't just use whatever is in the top 40 thats for sure.

Ohhh, on the topic of Utena AMVs, if I had DVD-ripping software and a lot of time, I'd totally make one to Queen's "Who Wants to Live Forever" but it wouldn't be funny. emot-frown Funny AMVs are the most fun to watch, too...

Yes they are but its harder in some ways than it is to make a more serious version.

Here are two AMVs I found that might tickle your fancies.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Di6zl8LkLmw Utena High School Musical 'Stick to The Status Quo'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euObiLcVMRg Utena AMV 'The Phantom of The Opera'

If I could create some Utena AMV's

Saionji lip-syncing to "All by Myself"
Juri lip-syncing to "I Feel Like A Woman"
Touga lip-syncing to "Simply Irresistable".

Akio, you have nice turns of phrase, but your points aren't clear and you have no textual support. I can't give this a passing grade.

You aren't old until those young whippersnappers try to tell you that Nirvana is old music.  that happened to me two years ago, so you've still got three more years.

Closer is one of my favorite NiN songs.  And it's perfect for Akio.

Aw, neither of you have hit "old" yet. If it helps, I knew you meant NIN. Closer is one of my favorites as well emot-keke Though Starfuckers Inc. always has and always will be top of my list.

For some odd reason, Akio and Anthy brings The Beast And The Harlot to mind for me. emot-confused

It's somewhere in AMV Hell 3. Every time I watch The Barefooted Girl, certain shots of Akio always make me think of him saying, "Like a, like a, like a sex machine!"

Back before I realized I was a more of a plotter than a writer, I had attempted to write a Miki/Kozue/Ami threesome. I deleted it because I can't write sex scenes. It popped into my head because Kozue says that "Except for me and Miki, all other things are ugly." So what if they met someone who looked just like them?

You'd have to invite Eva's Ayanami Rei over as well.

C'mon, no one finds it odd that SKU, SM, and NGE are all connected through someone behind the scenes, and all these characters just happen to look almost exactly alike? Excluding Kozue, they all act similar, too.

*Thought that she was Kozue for a second*

I think that it all draws down to hair color. If Miki's hair red, and Ami's hair was blue, they wouldn't look alike at all. A lot of characters tend to have blue hair. In SKU alone there's Miki, Kozue, Ruka, and Mrs. Ohtori.

But they share the same voice actress.

Rei Ayanami doesn't fit in, though - she goes with deadpan albino group, not smart blue hairs.

Re: "Utena Girl Squad" -- This entertained me.

It's not too surprising that they all look/act/sound alike, though, is it? When the creators start, they probably have a certain personality in mind for the character. When designing the character's appearance, they keep that character's personality in mind. Blue hair seems to be a popular color for intelligent characters.

The voice has to match the character's personality as well, which is why characters who act like that all tend to look and sound the same.

Its just as well that CLAMP never drew up Utena, Miki wouldn't look as intelligent as he does in the series.
