Because as a forum administrator, I get to plug my wire jewelry Etsy.

Up here in the frozen north, I'm very good friends with a very talented jewelrymaker named Maggie. We met through her stand at the farmer's market in the city here, and little by little, instead of buying all her jewelry, I've begun learning to make it.

In exchange, I help her sell our work, occasionally taking over her stand on Saturday, and now, building and managing the Etsy site her work is on. (I do not complete any single piece on my own, but rather I'm still apprenticing, so to speak, learning component pieces or assembling components she's made.)

This stuff is awesome and I love it to death, enough that I am in fact going to shamelessly plug it on my own website now. Yes, btw, I do receive a commission for this. emot-smile

Curious? Like pretty jewelry? Check it out! I'll happily answer any and all questions. Many of the pieces on the site are one of a kind things she's done, but even the ones that are patterns we repeat (those I have more a hand in making) are all designs unique to her. With the dolls, the stars and moons, and several others, I can customize them for colors and such. I love the wilder pieces myself, most of what I wear is huge, but there's also some really adorable gift potential here. The family pins are like crack cocaine for moms and grandmas. These aren't purchased components cleverly attached to earring hooks like you see so much on Etsy, but rather each is a unique piece made from the ground up with silver or copper wire, pliers, and gems/beads. Some of these pieces take hours between Maggie and myself. They're unique and they're sturdy, I've had pieces for like 6+ years now.

And BTW, if anyone wants an order placed for delivery during RoseCon, that can be arranged. ;)

Oh, should probably like...link to it. http://www.etsy.com/shop/DelvinDesign

Akio, you have nice turns of phrase, but your points aren't clear and you have no textual support. I can't give this a passing grade.

Put those bigass stars that you have on screwbacks, and let's make a deal. ;)

(p.s., I'm glad to know you're still into wireworking!)

We should have a thread of Etsy shop linkups or something like that. Like an Etsy roundup. I am totally lacking in the right words today. Anyway, there are several people on the forum who do Etsy stuff and I wanna friend them all. Circle? Favorite? Bah, English.

I'm not a big pieces jewelry wearer, but those are lovely works of art. The Celtic Knot geometric earrings are things I actually see me wearing.

I emailed Maggie about that! I don't have any screwbacks here, but she might have, and if she does...a deal!

Are there? How many people are on Etsy here? poptart

At least three! You're in one, there's the person who does the life bar necklaces, and there's me, too. I suppose that's not several then, huh? More like a couple, or a few. There may be more... we're a creative bunch.

Aine, you're thinking of Grinning Maniac. He runs Critical Hit Collectibles -I only recall 'cause I've seen him on the Regretsy forums too.  emot-keke I thought that you had a storefront too! I just wasn't a hundred percent sure.

I'd like to have one, one day, for prints. Maybe now that i'll actually get to have my own studio I can do one.

Gio, re the stars: I don't remember what kind of beads they have. Are they pony beads, or glass or swarovski (or some other kind of sparkly)?

If you're thinking of the multicolor stars and moons, those are swarovski. emot-smile

Aine, maybe we should throw out an Etsy curiosity thread?

GASP a competitor appears. It's so shinies~

But I'm not on Etsy so its cool. (I'm... actually not online yet either... I'm convinced Etsy is evil you see...) Right now I'm really hot for copper though and refuse to take my filthy little mitts off of it.

And now, back to chainmaille-ing *cries*

Haha, I would have, but I didn't know it was acceptable, and, at this point, I didn't want to steal your thunder. (Also I am terrible at interesting-yet-informative thread titles)

Why do you think it's evil out of curiosity?

I avoid Maggie's stand sometimes because I want to buy them. THANKS, YOU ENABLER. emot-tongue

So I have obtained screwbacks. cool

I've never even heard of them, btw! But I can certainly throw 'em on any pair you like. cool

Gio, your stuff is so pretty! It's way better than the paper clip jewelry I occasionally end up making for fun. The sliver and blue star earrings are super-cute, too.

Now I think we should just have a "crafty bastards" thread for all the crafty people. school-devil Or do we already have one?

I like them better than clips, but they're harder to find -mostly on vintage pieces. Do you have a pair in the shop (or can you make a pair) that's like the star ones you have? I went through, but I seem to recall yours having dangly bits, and i don't see anything with stars like that.
