My Piercing!

So last Tuesday I got my belly button pierced!
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c356/xjrcin/Picture209.jpg

I have to keep the ring in that they gave me, emot-frown  I've been taking real good care of it though, i.e. cleaning it twice a day with regular soap and letting it soak in warm sea salt water.  I've also been taking vitamins to help speed up the healing process and I've been trying to eat better too.  Why am I eager for it to heal?  Look at these!

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c356/xjrcin/bellyring1.jpghttp://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c356/xjrcin/bellyring3.jpg
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c356/xjrcin/bellyring2.jpghttp://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c356/xjrcin/bellyring4.jpg

Aren't these the prettiest, most gorgeous things you have ever seen in your life?!  They look like little gypsy belly rings!  I want them all soo bad!  My mom got me the pink butterfly one, and now I want more so I have something to look forward to for all my hard work on this piercing!

I didn't see a piercing thread anywhere, but if you have any you'd like to share, feel free!!

Re: My Piercing!

I don't have any pictures, but this amuses me so I thought I'd pass it on. I have two piercings in each earlobe, one set done professionally, and one set that I did myself. I wear small silver loops in them and nothing else, except that in my right ear I only have one loop. It drives Gio batty whenever she sees that I have two earrings in the one ear and only one in the other. She hates it that I'm asymmetrical. emot-biggrin

The truth is, I lost the fourth one at least five years ago and haven't bothered to get another. And I don't think I ever will because it's funny to hear her bitch about it. emot-biggrin

Re: My Piercing!

Ohh pretties! I'm jealous, you have a belly that allows for pretty piercings! Congratulations. I bet those would look lovely combined with thin belly chains...

You make it sound like I foam at the mouth whenever I see your earrings. emot-rolleyes I'm not that bad, sheesh. I just wouldn't do it myself.

I have three sets in my ears. I'm thinking about getting another set. emot-biggrin

Akio, you have nice turns of phrase, but your points aren't clear and you have no textual support. I can't give this a passing grade.

Re: My Piercing!

Boy did that piercing hurt.  The earrings I have (1 on each lobe, pretty traditional) didn't hurt at all when I got them done, it just felt like something was pinching them a bit.  When the tong things gripped the skin on my naval, it didn't hurt but felt like a pinch too, HOWEVER... when the needle when in, I almost passed out.  It literally felt like someone was STABBING me, like in a horror movie.  I read online somewhere where people were saying it didn't hurt, but it did for me!!  Well, at least for a couple minutes, then it subsided substationally.  Now it's only sore if it gets pressed too hard. emot-smile

Re: My Piercing!

Piercings... hmmm...

I have one set of ear piercings, which is the seconbd time those holes have been created.  I used to have two sets and one in the cartelidge of my left ear, but like with my first set, they got infected (no matter how well i kept them cleaned) so I had to let them close up.  I just never got around to repeircing them (they'd stay then with no infection - my ears are weird), and probably never will given I barely ever wear anything in the set of holes I do have.

Meh.

Re: My Piercing!

Ah piercings...I am boring and only have my ears and tongue pierced. That or I practice self control, just about everyone else I know who gets a piercing gets addicted and gets EVERYTHING pierced. It is quite amusing. I have toyed with the idea of getting my eyebrow pierced but most would-be employers would frown on such a blasphemous thing as additional holes in my face.emot-rolleyes

@ tenjou_sailorsaturn: the pain varies depending where the piercing is, but it really isn't that painful...or maybe I just have a high tolerance for pain so this statement is therefore void.

ahhh very nice a belly ring, I think it should somewhat be a requirement that people with belly rings should ....belly dance.

Very, very nice. Take good care of it and it will take good care of you.
I have way too much belly for one, so I had both of my lower conch and
tragus done at the same time that I had 3 smallish tattoos done.

It's all about the pain. The ink and the jewerly are just souvenirs.

Re: My Piercing!

Update: A little more than 3 months since the original piercing.  It's healed quite nicely.  I'm making sure to keep it clean.  I look at that old photo and I think I was fat!  Haha.  I have a much flatter tummy now, in my opinion.

I still have this damn hoop in, though.  I'm lazy and the guy who did the piercing is a jerk and I don't want to go see him and have him tell me my gypsy ring is too much for it right now or some bull.

Nice pics. Almost makes me wish I had something pierced. But I definitely could not pull off the belly button piercing. Too much gut and too much fur.

Are those rings very heavy? You might want to be careful and only wear heavier rings in moderation, special occasions and such. Don't want a droopy navel now.

Re: My Piercing!

They're actually very light.  I bought another one today.  Hopefully sometime soon I can run in to the piercing place and have them switch this hoop for the one I got.  It has two little danglies of diamond studs dripping down.  Pretty. *_*

Re: My Piercing!

You can buy ring-openers for those things so you can do it at home. It's a captive bead ring, right?  It takes a little practise but you can do it at home and it sure is a lot easier than dealing with some douchebag at the piercing parlour.

And I used to have a lot more piercings than I do now. All I have now are my earrings and my girly piercing that I really don't want to take out over some weird fear that I'll agitate the hole and open everything up for infection. That ain't a place I want to get infected, I tell you what.

giggle, you with a belly piercing.

I love belly piercings if they're done and showcased tastefully, but they're one of the easiest things to become tasteless. So...eh. My family would die if I got one, I have too much of a flabby belly, and PAIN to that degree and in that context is just too much.

Re: My Piercing!

I don't have piercing, even earrings - when I was going to pierce my ears, "machine" broken on my right ear. Just imagine my confusion when I asked surprised beautican what's going on, and my best friend said: ARGH! when she saw my ear. I nearly fainted, it was really bad day for me.

Re: My Piercing!

I just got my first piercings done on my lobes a few hours ago. I'm planning on getting two more sets. Since it was my first time though, I supposed that the place wouldn't recommend my getting more than one (Icing's). My lobes are pretty huge so I think it would look cool if I had a few more.

Re: My Piercing!

Should I get a lip piercing or nose piercing? I'm so torn. I adore them both and I think I would look good with either one but.. I don't know. My belly-button piercing is the first piercing I've kept so far and its definitely my favorite (and healing so well!), and I also finally got my ears pierced just for the sake of adornment, but I'd really like a facial piercing and those two are my favorite. I'm not sure which would look better on me though (opinions? I have pictures of me in some threads..) and I'm not sure which would be the most practical for say, jobs. I assume a nose piercing is more mainstream and accepted.

Other things to consider.. lip piercings are really sexy but I'm not sure what the hell I would do with my lips afterward (eating, kissing, oral) but I assume you get used to having one after a little while and adapt, like my friend with her tongue piercing. I'm slightly OCD though in that I wouldn't get a tongue piercing (although I think they look nice) myself because I'm OCD about combining food in my mouth with a piece of jewelry, and the lips are kind of close, but I'm not sure how much it would bother me. And nose piercings.. the only thing I can say about that is that I have allergies and my nose runs sometimes but not a whole lot, so I'm not sure how much of a bother that would be.

Pros/cons:

Lips - Sexy-looking / might bother my OCD jewelry/near where I'm chewing food complex?
Nose - Pretty, and popular with a lot of women in India.. I always liked their nose piercing jewelry - more mainstream for job-searching / allergies? snot? ..settling for a more mainstream piercing when I really desire the more adventurous one?

I'll have to sleep on it. But Lina wants to get her eyebrow pierced and Megan wants to get her tongue pierced so I think a piercing party might be planned after Christmas. emot-dance Really though I should take more time to consider it since I'm low on money anyway and I'm getting tattooed soon.. trying to space out the body-adornments so my mom can slowly get used to them instead of freaking out. emot-rofl

Re: My Piercing!

I think the lip piercing would suit you best, but I'm going purely on appearance there, not any kind of practical consideration. You have pretty lips, and I think a ring would emphasize them nicely. I'd ask how long you can leave either piercing out for at any moment before you get either done. In particular, could you leave the ring out while you were at work if you needed to? Whatever you decide, please let us see how it goes. emot-keke

Re: My Piercing!

I vote for nose piercing because it's more exotic than lip in my opinion, and second, being someone who's prone to get canker sores just for even the smallest injury, I think nose piercing is safer. Plus I fear for food getting caught in the place where the metal meets flesh emot-gonk

If you're afraid of things like allergy/snot, you can do piercing that's not necessarily in a ring.

Re: My Piercing!

I have an eyebrow piercing, both ears pierced, and I'm planning on getting an industial bar on my right ear, my nose pierced, and my lip. And another eyebrow piercing right above the one I already have. I have a change jar that I'm using to save up for these piercings. I currently have $13 American in small change. emot-gonk

I've been saving since July.
