Amen to that... I really need to get back into cosplaying... I did it once actually. I was Boromir from Lord of the Rings, and the yaoi fans were thrilled because my girlfriend at the time was Aragorn (she was hot, too!)

Eeeep, me and a friend are wanting to cosplay Juri and Black Rose Shiori and have no idea where we could get rose crest rings (black too) or Juri's sword.

Re: Cosplaying Utena

A while back, Gio and I were thinking if we could get enough people together, we would get a jeweler to custom make rose signets. The more people, the cheaper it becomes, as a mold has to be made. I don't know if we still want to do this, but it is an idea we've tossed around in the past...

I'm going to warn you, though, when we looked into it it was very expensive, although I don't remember figures too clearly. Hers ended up being $160 when she got it, although she went in on it with something like 20 other people. When I looked into it, I was looking at getting something with a little more enamel work than hers, so the price was higher...

*shrugs* It's an idea.

I'll post a picture of it when I get home, I don't recall how you wanted yours different, mine was pretty much a full-on carbon copy of the signet from the series. I would expect a similar production to cost more now, that was like eight or nine years ago, but for $160 I had a custom-fitted ring that lasted me years. It's still in fantastic condition, I've just lost so much weight it falls off my finger. emot-frown I owned the actual signet ring as well but it was cheaply made and designed to fit on 13 year old Japanese girls, so I never wore it. emot-mad

Akio, you have nice turns of phrase, but your points aren't clear and you have no textual support. I can't give this a passing grade.

Re: Cosplaying Utena

I wanted the black enamel on the rose seal, as I recall yours didn't have it. We could probably check around for something like this...

I would love something like that. emot-keke I don't have any money currently, but I'm definitely looking to get a rose signet ring in the future. Would custom sizes be available? Because I have tiny fingers, I think size 4 or 5 or so. >_<

But yes, if a lot of people are interesting enough in that to make it happen, count me in too. *__*

Re: Cosplaying Utena

Well, custom sizes would have to be available. We'll see. If enough people are interested to make it worthwhile, it's something we're open to considering.

Gah, if only it didn't cost so much or if I was not so poor. Is it made of silver? It looks very pretty!
And why on earth do people scan things other than pictures? emot-confused That's so weird. Or maybe it's only me 'cause my scanner would refuse to scan such things. It doesn't even like scanning dark paper. emot-mad

Hehe, anyway, if we all had those rose signets we could challenge each other to duels! emot-biggrin

What an amusing thought.

...just need to figure out what would be my reason to duel, take swordmanship lessons, fly over to wherever I need to be, find some forbidden forest with a strangely familiar white door and I'm set. Oh, and how could I forget... Snazzy Student Council Uniform. <3

It was a custom made ring, Sey. If you're interested, we're thinking about seeing how many people want one.

It's indeed lovely, but the signet ring goes on the left hand! Obviously you don't take a contract with Ends of the World seriously. emot-mad
