This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

I'd kinda prefer them in Shaved Ice. I don't follow them, and I keep coming to Gen Diss when there are new posts only to find it's the riddles.

This is pretty close to the kind of frustration that led us to create SIL in the first place, so I tend to take it pretty seriously.

It does make sense, and I feel the same way.  At the same time, maybe I only feel that way because I unconsciously think of SIL as a "less important" part of IRG, which isn't really fair.  SIL is part of the forum, so a forum event should be able to happen there.

If the riddles are bugging Ashnod and perhaps the silent majority of GD visitors, I want to put them in SIL.  But I also want people who don't normally visit SIL to know when a new riddle is posted.  So I'll post riddles to GD, then move them to SIL and leave a redirect.  That way each riddle will only ping once for Ashnod-tachi, while OITL-tachi can either get in the habit of checking SIL or subscribe to the riddle threads.  I'll go take care of it now!

Re: ~& Riddle Me This! &~

Well, guess who reappeared this afternoon, with a black eye and a broken umbrella, mewling something about being attacked by a shadow?  Wait, don't answer that; that's not a riddle.  It's obviously The Penguin.   No one else can turn sour grapes into whine quite like him.  I'm sure his riddle will provide you with hours of enjoyment, and me with hours of schadenfreude.

You all are so quiet!  Could it be that you don't believe I'll actually atomize your server?  It's almost as though you aren't afraid of me.  Well, I know just what to do about that!  Meet my friend Scarecrow, and get ready to live a very personal nightmare!

Re: ~& Riddle Me This! &~

This next riddle is the last one before my ultimate riddle.  It's inspired by someone very special to me -- my muse, my light -- who is much better off with me than she ever was with that buffoon of a carnival clown, anyway.  Ladies and gentleman, have a peek at Harley Quinn.  No, not in that way!  Oh, for that your punishment will be severe indeed!

Re: ~& Riddle Me This! &~

It's time we brought this one-sided battle of wits to a close, don't you think?  Now, what's that I smell?  Cheap grease paint?  Ah, yes, it's the Clown Prince of Crime -- second in rank only to me, King Edward!  Yes, The Joker will supervise the last of my riddles.  The solution to this one is the password that disarms my bomb!  But don't expect to solve it without the other riddle answers in hand!  That would be preposterous.  I'm not normally one to count my chickens, but I think in this case you can consider yourselves plucked.

Best of luck!

Re: ~& Riddle Me This! &~

Well, it's been four weeks since anyone posted to the riddle threads, so I'm going to declare them done.  I'm going to post the solutions (with explanations!) in each of the riddle threads, including the ones you solved, in case anyone who worked on a riddle wants to see how it's done.  Thank you for playing, guys!  I had a lot of fun, and I hope you had some fun too. emot-smile
