The Utena Doujinshi Archive

True to my word, I had nothing to do today and put this together.

The Utena Doujinshi Archive

Soon-to-be nexus for all of my doujinshi; one is up so far, "Koinojyumon wa Zettai Unmei", under the "gag" section.  As I'm thoroughly exhausted from a day of coding, scanning, and retouching, I've decided to let you all decide what doujinshi I'll scan next so as to insure that my efforts aren't in vain.

The choices:

- "Sweet Nails" A movie-universe Juri and Shiori doujinshi.  One of my favorites, as the visual symbolism used is simply arresting.
- "Memory of Fossils" Juri-centric, with eventual Juri/Anthy.  Definitely not my favorite, and the art is rather awkward.
- "Dahlia" Another Juri one with several stories of varying degrees of seriousness.  Some explicit Juri/Shiori.  Decent artwork.
- "There Will Be Love There" Yet another Juri, though this one is mostly novels that I won't be scanning.  The insert art is quite nice, though.
- "Tenjou Kakumei" Porn, basically.  Utena/Anthy, Touga/Utena, Nanami/Utena/Suzuki/Yamada/Tanaka.
- "Kinema no ????" Bizarre gag set.  Utena has a "Through the Looking Glass" experience and shrinks, much to Miki's bemusement; there's a Miki/Kozue one-shot, and an odd cosplay segment.  Nice artwork.
- "Utena Movie Anthology" An enormous, tankouban-sized compilation from many artists with movie-centric stories.  Really nice, though its size and tight binding will make it hard to scan.
- "Potato Masher" Quite possibly the most hilarious porn I own.  Juri and Shiori/Salarymen feature in the first story, and the second retells all the duels as sexual experiences.  There are some absolutely (unintentionally) hysterical panels in this.

The "Anatomic Angel" set:
The circle Anatomic Angel released a compilation of all their Juri/Shiori work called "Mosaic".  Four doujinshi in one, essentially.  However, I also have two of the compiled doujinshi on their own, and they feature Utena/Anthy "B-sides" to complement the Juri/Shiori stories, and aren't featured in "Mosaic".  So, we have:
- "Mosaic" Large Juri/Shiori anthology.  I'm quite fond of the artist's unique style, but it may not be for everyone.  She's amazing with hair, in any case.
- "Capsule Cherry" B-side with Miki and Kozue, Utena and Anthy, and Mikage and Mamiya.
- "La croix chocolat" B-side with a generic movie story by a guest artist.

Let me know what you'd like, as well as your thoughts on the site itself.

Thanks for doing this! etc-love *downloads*

My choice would be "Potato Masher". Based on your description, it seems a lot of fun. school-devil

Wow, Juri is popular. Um, I'd also love to see "Potato Masher" because I'm a huge fan of hilarious porn.

Re: The Utena Doujinshi Archive

I'll third "Potato Masher", just for the retelling of the duels as sexual experiences. emot-biggrin

If I can vote more, I'd also love to see "Tenjou Kakumei". Lots of variety of pairings.

Since most of your doujinshi is Juri-centered, I'll vote for one of those too.. "Sweet Nails", please! emot-biggrin

(I don't think I'm supposed to vote that much, but they're mostly for suggestions. emot-keke )

And thank you so much for doing this! etc-love I love the layout too.

Edit: Also, do you accept doujinshi donations?

Yes; I'd meant to put something about that in the FAQ.

Re: The Utena Doujinshi Archive

I'm also someone who really likes to share my doujinshi with others, (as few as I may have) especially for SKU. I've only bought one, though, and I sold it because it didn't grab me enough to keep it, and because I was in need of money. emot-frown However, I scanned it before I sold it. I also touched up on the scans a little in photoshop. Sadly, the two-page images didn't come out so well because of the tight-binding, so I'll probably have to try to fix it in photoshop, but I doubt I can. emot-frown The rest of the scans are pretty big and have pretty good quality, though. Should I email the scans to you? (I also saw the thread about Gio possibly making a secret doujinshi gallery, and said I could donate it there, as well. Today is a good day for SKU doujinshi! emot-tongue etc-love)

Also, I really love the first doujinshi posted on your website. It's so cute, and I adore the art-style. I'll probably make a lot of icons/graphics from it, but I will credit the doujinshi artist and link back to your archives. Thank you again for all of your work into this. etc-love

Re: The Utena Doujinshi Archive

E-mail is fine.  I'll see what I can do about extra retouching, but, unfortunately, unless one completely removes the binding, there will be issues with "gutters" and distortion in two-page images.  I wouldn't worry about it, though.

As a note to everyone, I'll scan Potato Masher tomorrow (technically, today).  You all can look forward to a weekend of gratuitous sexuality.

Re: The Utena Doujinshi Archive

Just an apology to everyone, as I wasn't able to get "Potato Masher" scanned today.  Tomorrow will find me busy as well, but I foresee an update within the next week.  SleepDebtFairy was kind enough to donate a doujinshi to the Archives, so that will show up as well.

Re: The Utena Doujinshi Archive

I'd love Mosaic. I'm a huge fan of the art style and until now I didn't even know that doujin existed.

I keep saying I'll go through my collection and own up to what I have, and now's a good a time as any. If you need any donation doujins I'd be willing to contribute.

Hinotori made this post, and then went back and changed it later. Such is life.

etc-love I have you to thank as well for the donation!  Makes my job a bit easier.

And wow, I had completely forgotten about the Utena/Anthy S&M story in "Potato Masher".  It features quite possibly the worst artwork I've ever seen.  Fuck you for adding ten more pages to my scanning quota, "Von. Thoma". emot-gonk
