If Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote a song about that cat, I bet it would be really disturbing. (Or maybe that's just because I keep imagining it in the upbeat tune of Skimbleshanks' song.)

When my grandfather was dying, I remember that there was an overweight cat that lived there. I'm pretty sure that he wasn't able to tell when people where dieing, though. It was a pretty bitchy cat, if I remember correctly.

I was torn as to whether I should post this here or in the Videos thread.  It's news, so it goes here.

Fox 11 in L.A. did an "investigative report" on /b/. Watch it here.

They've also done other hard hitting reports on Second Lifeand Emo Kids.

Emo Kids.

Despite what all my constant complaining may have lead you to believe, I really don't consider myself emo or scene. But nonetheless, this kind of stuff really bothers me. Maybe I do have the Emo Song on my iPod, and I laugh every single time I hear it, but still. Regardless of how much I've laughed at them before, and how rude scene kids are to me, it's their thing. In all honesty, if you're a part of something, it probably does mean a lot to you. I think it's a bit of a stretch to call it a 'movement', but it's something in it's own right I suppose. If I hadn't found Astrid and made a name for myself in the sihk, I don't know what I'd be doing today. Hell, who knows if I'd be here [in truth, I probably would. But shut up, this is my dramatic moment.]. I can respect having something that really holds value in your life. Both scene and emo [even I can admit they aren't the same thing] may lack substance to me, but that's me. It means something to someone, and in the end, we should lay off them. Except for on Emo Beat Down Day. That shit's just funny.

Wow. It's... wow. It's funny in the way that if Touga ever escaped into the real world, he'd probably get hit by a car out of sheer attraction to mysterious roadways is funny. Which, all things considered, is funny, but...

Re: Sharing articles

This is still going on?  Someone keeps leaving money around various parts of Japan.  That must be kind of eerie for people.  While it's possible the person is just a rich eccentric, it's still hard for people to just accept, I would think.  I'd be afraid of what might be on the envelopes or the money, especially after anthrax scares in the U.S. and various cult activities that have occurred in Japan in the past.

Still...I wouldn't mind a bit of free money myself. emot-tongue

Ugh... this reminds me of those stories I heard where the money and coins turn into snakes for those who keep the money to themselves rather than sharing it with the poor emot-gonk

In another news... did you guys see this article? Apparently, they want to change the FISA Law again. For better or for worse, I don't know exactly.

Re: Sharing articles

I borrowed the movie “The Elephant Man” from a friend of mine who was obsessed with David Lynch. I cried and cried throughout the movie, it was SO GOOD. But that’s for the film thread, here’s the article that summarizes his life story:  http://tx.essortment.com/josephmerricke_ogo.htm

Re: Sharing articles

I've been watching the Live News coverage of this, since you posted the article, Cerise. As of right now, they're reporting 7 confirmed dead and 60 are in the hospital. That is so horrible.

Bah humbug! emot-mad

Edit: About the bridge, the death toll has dropped to 4. The news reports and such have said that it is far, far less than estimated, which is good news. Well, good isn't really the right word... sort of like the lesser of two evils? But the lesser of two tragedies.

Well, this just says that feminine men are perceived as a better long-term investment, not that they are. Sort of like you'd expect that guy to have big testicles, but in reality, due to the steroids he's most likely been taking...emot-wink

My cynicism rises up in me and says that cheating on a spouse is perceived as manly behavior, so more feminine guys are assumed to not have the balls for it. But then I'm a little bitter about gender roles at the moment, so you should take what I say with a grain of salt.emot-rolleyes

Anyway, for the record, I do prefer girly men for a number of reasons [not just physically, no] and from my experience [or lack thereof] they do tend to be more faithful. Any person will have their downsides, of course, but I think being more in touch with their feminine side has made a lot of the men I know much more understanding, respectful, and above all, faithful. This isn't to say all, so don't lash out at me with rude metros.

Re: Sharing articles

A few of my guy friends are girls, but not in the vagina way, and from what I know about them and their relationships, I'd say that this is mostly true. (Notice the use of the word, "mostly.") They're almost always more interested in a long term relationship, but that generally doesn't stop them from going through a lot of girlfriends, and even cheating on them.

But maybe this is just the feminine boys I know.
